He had got into debt and the Board of Governors had decided to reduce his salary from £400 to £275. The Shipping Company are arranging to take .Auckland fruit for the Exhibition which was excluded through late applica* tion for space by the Rimutuita. Dunedin, Saturday. Owing to the Judge being otherwise engaged, the divorce case, Wakefield v. Wakefield and Withers, cannot bf reached till late this afternoon or Monday morning, Inveroargill, Saturdaj. Unusually heavy rain fell incessantly: all over Southland for the last 36 hours. No serious damage is at present reported except that the Invercargill-Kingstonlin* isjwashed away m two places near Benmore, and traffic north of Winton ig impended.
