FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S* CO.'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT.
Wanganui, Wednesday. The bidding at the sale yesterday wu dull and without animation. We had a a large entry of first-clas bullocks, which had to be turned out untold. We had competition for young cactle, and gold some of the pen*. Sheep were mostly Of an inferior quality, but we sold all at the prices below, one pen of large heavy wethers bred by Mr James Hair topping the market at 10s. Pigs were at lower values, and we sold all that came for. ward. Dairy cowh met a good market] We sold on Saturday a number of horses and poultry. Our quotations ar« :— Cattle.— 3-yr forward bullocks, £4 10f to £5 Is ; cows. £2 5s to £2 10s; young cattle, 28s to 30s ; dairy cows, £3 to £6. Shaep.— Best fat wethers, 10s; good wethers, 8s to 8s 6d; old ewes, 3s to 3s 3d. Pigs.— Bacon pigs, 28s to 325 ; porkeri, 10s to 15s ; stores, 5s to 7s. Horses.— No alteration m value. Poultry.— Young fowls, 2s 6d to 3s 8d the couple ; old ones, Is 6d to 2s ; ducks. 2s 9d to 3s ; turkeys, 5s to 8s the coupla.
