Stevens and Gorton's Report.
Bulls. Saturday. We held a very successful sale at Awahuri on the 20th inst., when w« yarded 200 head of cattle and 2,300 Sheep. The attendance was rood' and the 1 bidding more spirited than at tkstwo or three previous sales. We quitted nearly all the ewes. Prices for young cattle were better, but for other lines of stock there was little differenced W» quote :— Cattle.— Beef, £5 12s 6d ; fat cows, £4; milkers (near calving), £5 to £5 10«; forward cows, £3 to £3 ss; «tor« cows, £2 ss; three-year steers, £41sj two-year steers, £3 5; eighteen •monthsteers, £2 63 ; two year heifers, £2 to £2 2s 6d ; year and eighteen-month heifers, 255 ; calves, 16s. -...'■ Sheep.— Forward, wethers, 7s- ild ; lambs m wool, 3s 6d to 4s 7d ; culls, 2s lOd ; ewes m lamb, bidding reached 6f 6d, but were passed m at 6s 9d.
