(ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. — COPYRIGHT. ) (reuter's telegrams.) Mandalay, April 21. "Reports from Bhamo state that a force of 200 British have been carrying on operations m Kachin district (north of Jii.iamo). The stockades of the Kachins •were carried by asanlt, and the rebels dispersed. The British troops returned to Bhamo with two officers wounded, Sydney, Friday. 1 Ths Chimborazo has arrived here, and the passengers been placed m quarantine on account of the case of smallpox which occurred on the voyage out. The schooner, Sir John Franklyn, arrived from Wellington. Captain MacDonald reports that during a heavy gale the chief officer named Thomas Henderson, was washed overboard and drowned. All efforts at rescue proving fruitiest. Ringmaster, Tempe, and Nelson, are the principal' favorites' for the Sydney Cup.
