Herr No.rherg's violin solos were perhaps tbo. c'iif:E attrantion of the entertninment ■urHonbttsdly bore out the reputation the: violinist has acquired as a first-class player. The performer was, , heartily ; encored each time he'appeared and more especially when he ployed the ♦4Etetive and stirring composition which imitates tii * Huriilam] pipes. For some unknown reason a.nwhber of those who -had prbriniscd to take part and whose names appeared iti the programme did not «p- - entertainment however went ■ Smoothly notwithstandinjr and everyone seemed pleased with"' the evening's enjoyment. The Amateurs performed : "Cbissftling " Biirpriaingly well, although two of the roles were sustained by f resli performers. The result financially of tli(tp<..i;forinance we have been unable to ascertain, but hope it is a .substantial one. .
