He had been, drinking. '*'"- Blenheim, Monday. A mill hand named Whittington Lane was accidentally shot yesterday when getting into a boat at Havelock to go duck shooting. A companion .named Harry Doreen was handling the gun when one charge went off and lodged m Lane's groin. He died when on the road to Blenheim Hospital. He leaves a wife and two young children.
