Accident.

As a young man named Brodie was driving a horse and trap down Broad Street yesterday, the animal bolted and came down to the Square at top speed. When passing the Clarendon, Brodie attempted to get out of the trap behind, but did not do so very cleverly, and got a nasty fall, dragging along the hard metal road for some yards. He got up apparently not much hurt, but found he was severely shaken, having also received a contusion on the side of the head, together with dislocation of the elbow. He was able to walk to Dr Macintyre's, where his injuries were attended to. The horse, when the driver left it to its own devices, tore furiously onward, turning up the right of way at Coleman Place, where the trap capsized at the rear of the butcher's shop. A crowd of people were soon on the ground, by whom the trap was raised on its wheels again, and the horse liberated. Moss Symons then mounted and put the fiery steed round the Square a tew times, which eventually steadied it down.
