Tho election for the town of Ipswich, rendered necessary by. the unseating on tuition of the late members, took plane yesterday when two Conservative candidates, Viscount Dalrymple and lord Elcho, were elected, debating Mr Horace Devey, Solicitor-General. # A public meeting on the Irish^question was held m Her Majesty's Theatre last niirht. The building was crammed m all parts and the greatest enthusiasm prevailed. The assembly was not composed of any one party, all sh udes^of political opinion being represented. Marquis of Salisbury who seconded the Motion characterised the Bill as an ignoble surrender which he said would ■weaken the whole Empire.
