RECKLESS DRIVING.
A pew days ago an action was commenced m Wellington against an expressman for damage! caused by an accident, the alleged result of. furious driving on the part of the owner of the express. After the case had b«en partially gone into, the plaintiff agreed to pay plaintiff £100 m full of all demands, and tlie costs or the action. It was proved that the driving had been of the most reckless nature, notwithstanding the appeals of the passengers to use more care. The result of the accident was severe injuries to more than one of the passengers,— fractured limbs, &c, &c. Had any of the injuries terminated fatally, there is little doubt that the defend* nt would have been called upon to defend a very serious charge. Tho oase is one that should be considered a warning to drivers who are indifferent to the safety of their passengers.
