Messrs Snelson & Co had « most successful sale of Mr GardiDer's fiirnitunand effects yesterday. There was « very large attendance 'of buyers, ami every line was passed under the ham mer except the piano and drawing- room suite. Prices realised were on the whole satisfactory, and for some of the lines there was veay spirited competition. On the whole the sale may be said to have been a success m all respects. The N.Z. Clothing Factory has just manufactured some uniforms for officer* of the Woodville Rifle Volunteers, which do the firm of .Halleustein every credit. It is!,njow proved that this class of work can he done cheaper and bettor by the colouial than the manufacturing firms at Home. This has been most satisfactorily proved, the result being that the N.Z. Clothing Factory now mippli'-e uniforms to almost every Volunteer corps m the colony.
