MESSRS BECKETT, HAMMOND & DICK'S: REPORT^
' ' Maeton, Saturday. On the Bth inst. we sold Mr Henry Coraf oot, of Wanganui, 640 ' acres of bush land, being sections 2, 3, and 4 of the Hapopo, Rangitira Block, at a very satisfactory figure. It is, we believe, Mr Cornfoot's intention to reserve the same for •aw-milling purposes. On the 9th inst we held our annual Horse Fair, at, York Farm, which was, as usual, well attended. The entries were very numerous, no .less than 150 horses being offered. Biddin?, however, was somewhat dull, and prices low, especially for draught stock, which was difficult to quit at vendors' value. We quote:— Heavy draught!, £14 to £20; light, do., £6 to £19 ; hack* (fair), £5 to £10 ; scrubbers, £2. to £4.
