Campbelltown Sale Yards, Wanganui.
MR ALBERr BARNS' REPORT.
Although the weather on Wednesday last was unusually'bad, there wag a good attendance at the sale, and a large quan tity of stock came for word. We have had to report • a fairly good sale, but prices ruled- m favour of purchasers. There is still a demand for stock, but not at advanced prices from late quotations, m. fact, we should say values have declined a 'little, for^cattle m particular. Young sheep find ready buyers, but old ones are hard to place except at low rates. We quote : — . ; Cattle.— Fat cows, £4 4s to £4 15s ; 2 to 2£-vr steers, £8 6s ; yearlings; to 15---month (mixed), 80s ; 2-yr heifers. £2. Sheep. — Fat wethers, 8s 6d ; fat ewes, 8s ; store ewes, 4s 4d to 6s ; hoggets, 6s 2'd- to 6s 4d ; woolly lambs, 5s 2d. Pigs.J-rSmall porkers, 10s 6d. Horses.— We sold several well-bred hacks at from £6 15a to £16 10s.
