The Premier is now on a visit to the North. He will spend Sunday at New Plymouth, and will leave the following day for Wellington. Mr Stout is complying with the request of many of the residents of Taranaki m paying them a visit, but has been compelled to defer it no long owing to the pressure ot miblio affairs. Mr Ballanoe will visit Giubnrne, Tolora Bay, Opitiki, and will probably go as far north as Russell, before he returns. After landing at Tologa Bay, ho may go inland to Major Ropata's settlement, which is about 40. milos from Tologa Bay. A meeting of the Cabinet was held on Thursday, but only departmental matters were dealt with. There will not be a full meeting of the Cabinet for about a fortnight, by which time Mr Ballan«e and Mr Larnaoh are expected to return to Wellington. — Wellington
