INFORMATION WANTED.

(TO THE EDITOB OF THE STANDABD.) Sir, — Can you give me any information on th« following : I want to know the reason the Borough Council called for tenders for the poundkeeper's and ranger's duties. Don't you think the expense of advertising' might have been saved, together with the trouble they pat people to m tendering, because it is very evident it was not the intention of the Council to entertain any application but from those at present m office. I should think there ought to be something 1 more heard about the matter seeing that the highest tender was accepted, thereby squandering the ratepayers' money m an unnecessary matter. I was one who was foolish enoagh to waste time m offering my services, but I intend it to be some time before the Council catch me Undering again. — I am, &c, John James Leigh. Palmerston North, April 9.
