In his charge to the Grand Jury, the Judge said there were twenty-seven charges against twenty* lix prisoners, including eight Maoris. Henry Lumb, a boy of fifteen, was convicted and sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labor, and two whippings, each of 25 Btrokea with a rod to be" administered at the commencement and close of bis sentence. John Brook, lan old man, was sentenced to twelve months' hard labor on two charges of larceny as a bailee of saddles and bridles, the sentences to run concurrently. The Grand Jury, found true bills m all the cases on the calendar.
