| The sales during the past fortnight passed off very well. At Waverley large | entries made up the sale, and at Wanganui the yards were quite full, and with the exception of a line of cows all sold at or after the auction. We have no alteration m values, nor do we see how store stock can rise m price without an improvement takes place m export produce. At our Saturday sales young poultry sell well, with plenty of demand. Good horses are saleable, but inferior animals are neglected, except at very low figures. We cleared out all we had m last week. Cattle.— At Waverley : Well forward, bullocks made £5 ; forward cows, nearly fat, £3 11s to £3 12s 6d ; 2to 3-year-old steers, £3 5s to £3 6s ; 2 yr-old, £2 10a ; heifers, £1 16s ; weaners, 20s to 28s (3d. At St. Hill Street : 3 -yr-old bullocks, £3 17s 6d to £4 7s 6d ; fat cows, £3 15s ; well forward, £3 8s 9d ; cows and calves, £2 193 ; weaners, 4:30s ; heifers,_22s. Sheep.— At Waverley : Wethers, 7s lOd ; lambs m wool, 6s ; ewes, 4s 6d. At Si; Hill Street : Pat wethers, 9s; ewes, 6s 3d to 7s ; mixed, 6s9d ; old ewes, 4s 3d ; store wethers, 5s to 7s 9d. Pis-s. — At lower valaes. A good number were entered. Porkers, 12s to 19s 6d.; sows, 20e ; large pigs, 525. Hor«es. — Good hacks, ;£ 10; inferior, £2 to £5. No draughts entered.
