From the Post we learn that thpolice m Otago have effected the arrest of Thomas Gibson, ex-clerk of the Po-torn Town Board, who lug been,' wanted.f or a bbhßiderablo v timu,on several 'charges of forgery, with intent to defraud that corporation. The accused was taken into custody while working on Mr Pollock's Btation, near Balclutha, where it appears ht has been employed tor a number of months, and where he was known as Thomas Courteuay. . He ib charged with having, on the 16th F«brusry, 1884, forced the namo of F. M'Leod to an order for £27 : l7a JL<1, with I intent to defraud the Fetone Board, and with having forged an acceptance receipt for £10 is ' oti "the 15th May, with intent to defraud the Board. He disappeared from Wellington about 18 months ago, and was only recently discovered on Mr. Pollock's, station. Hit wife and -family remained behind until two or three weeks ago, when they rejoined him. He is to be brought up to Wellington at the end of the week.
