In its report on the markets,- the New,, Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company-: — The improvement; of prices for New Zealand mutton m the •Home market continues. Latest telegraphic advices quote sales. at s£d to 6d per Ib. >A cablegram received from our London manager' on the 20th inst., states that the final average price obtained for the frozen lamb, ex Ruapeliu, was fully 7£d ; per lb. In a recent return we have received from a London office, we find that a line of 480 carcases of mutton was distributed throughout the following centres: — Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Preston, Dewsbury, Wake : field, I Botherham, Bury, Middleboro', Glasgow, and Belfast. It is gratifying to observe that the area of sale is being so thoroughly extended.
