Waugani Education Board.

(Continuation of Rfiport.) Oh resuming, the Board, after the adjournment, went' into Committee for some timo, Messrs Carson and Stevens taking their seats. On resuming the Committee that the following resolutions had been carried m Committee ; — " That the attention of the Minister of be called to the necessity which exists for amending the Education Act, 1877, so as to empower the Education Board to make bj'e laws for the management and control of buildings aid other property of the Boards, and for such other purposes- as. may be necessary to secure the due administration of the said Act similar to the powers conferred by statute upon County Councils and other local bodies to make bye-laws." The Inspector read his reports on the various schools, and the following res/H---lution was reported from the committee: — That m cases where teachers have neglected their duties, the Inspector supply the necessary information, and that the teachers and committees be communicated with on the. subject, a copy .of the said communication to be sent to the teachers through the committees, and another to be supplied to the committee Kiuabolton Road.— R. T. Templar ap plied tor -the situation of master at the half -day schools at Cheltenham and' Kiinbolton Road. — The chairman wrote; ask ins- that two half-day schools should be opened m that district. Mr Stevens moved that the request be acceded to, seconded by Mr Fry and carried.— Mr Templar's name to be forwarded to the committee with a recommendation for his appointment. Awahuri.— The committee asked for £10 for a saddle shed.— Resolved to grant £ for £ up to the amount asked for. . Feild J ng. — A. letter respecting the. pur-, chase of the section adjoining tiie Feild-ing-.School for £90 was forwarded by the - Committee,— Mr Stevens thought £50 was full value for the section. — Resolved to renew the offer of £50, which was made some time back. ■>
