Mr E. W. Morrah, who has been In* spector of the Bank -of; Australia m this Colony for the part 9 or 10 ytars, left Auckland on Tuesday* ©y the San Francisco mail steamer Alameda. Mr Morrah, who is going for a holiday tour wilt be replacod during his absenoe by Mr W. Sawyers who was ' roW several years nianagor ofUhe Bank, of Australasia m Wellington. It is understood tliat Mr Morrah : will shortly retm o» pension. He is one of the oldest officers oCrthe Bank of Australasia, and during an important period held the position of manager on the Uallarat Qoldfield, where, as m Wellington, he was much esteemed.— Wellington paper.
