Severe Gale.
(united press association} Invercargill, Wednesday. The ship Halcione, at the Bluff from London, reports that on - March 2nd she Jvas m a heavy gale. The wind dying "about raised tumultuous seas, two of which broke on board, th,e second gatting! the poop and forecastle. The seamen and passengers lose most of their clothing. One of the latter, the Key J. Herishelwood, Presbyterian mimster,and ,late editor of the Scottish Evangelist, amanuscript on which he had been engaged for a quarter of a century. Captain Parker says he has beeu m heavier weather, but never saw such a peculiar sea. - Three boats were swept' away, and the' skids broken.
