Assault by a Ch inaman.
f UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION'^ Woodville, Thursday. A murderous assault was committed by a Chinaman at the Tamaki Hotel, Tahoraite, last night, on the waiter, a named Joe Wright, with a slasher, inflicting two severe wounds on the back of the neck and one on the top of the head. The injured man was taken to Woodville. Dr Fussell dressed Jtbe wounds, which are not of so serious a nature as was at first believed. The Ciufsaman hag been arrested by Constable Gray.
