Several witnesses positively swore that there Were people m the shop ju«t after eight o'clock, with a light burning '■' and: the front door open. The back door was found unlecked'after the fire. Veryt contradictory .evidence was given as to the value of the itock, which was insured m the New Zealand office for £250.
