The publicans can vassed vigorously but forgot to enquire m what licensing district the course was situated. They" triumphantly returned their 1 " men for the Hutt district only to see 'five staunch teetbllars elected for the Epuin district, m which thfe Wellington Eacmg Club's course lies. A petition has now been lodged against the whole of this committee on various grounds of irregularity, arid as it is understood the right H,6 sell drink on the racecourse is m serious jeopardy, considerable interest is felt lix the result.
