The British and Foreign office has addressed a reminder to the French Government, calling attention to the agreement m force between the countries with re- *'■' to maintaining the neutral position of the ~'* -New Hebrides group, which agreement France fiilly admits. Lord Granville has received the Colonial Agents General on the subject and requested them to refer the question to the various colonial Governments, as he says he can take no action without consulting them. Mr Fowler has submitted a definite proposals to the Australasian colonies with regard to the establishment of a parqel post. ' ' San Francisco, Feb. 22. The R.M.S. Mariposa, with the New Zealand homeward mails, dated Auckland, Feb. 2, arrived here today. Albany, Wbdnesday. Arrived; in' King George's sound this morning— R.M.S. Rome, with English mails to Jan. 22nd.
