Bunnythorpe Blue Ribbon Meeting.
A most enjoyable and successful meeting, under the auspices, of the Slue Ribbon Society, was'held last evening in the Bunnythorpe Schoolhouse: : The meeting was opened by singing and prayer, after which the chairman (Mr J. Dixon) in a short address pointed out very plainly the necessity of jail present donning the blue. Recitations .were contributed by Messrs H. Jeffries, .F. Nettie, Walter Dixon, and Miss Boddy,. jmd were loudly applauded. Mr Stuart, assisted by Mr T. Rogers, in his rendering of "Orace 'Smith's Address to the Mummy," was all jthat could;))©; desired. The audience were favored' with ' €wo songs given by Mrs Thomas, and^pne by Mr Aldrich. Mr J. Dixon/s reading was a temperance piece giyen'iin -Sne style, and was thoroughly appreciated. Before the meeting broke up some JO u donned the blue " and sighed the ' pledge. Dixon ; lt Orace Smith's Address, to the Mummy," Mr <Stiiart; assisted^ by MF-TMlogers ; recitation, " Nothing ana S^rnlthing," Walter Dixon; song, (| The Warrior's Death," Mr Aldrich ; recitation, " Papa's Letter," Miss Boddyj i3ong, > 1 ' I&ther come 'home," 1 Mrs 1 Thomas; recitation, "The Ship on" Fire," Walter Dixon. We congratulate all interested in the very successful and pleasant meeting" which took place. It would seem that temperance principles are making rapid headway in Bunnythorpey'a result attributable in no small degree to the praise Worthy efforts of Messrs Dixon, Aldrich, an fToJher earnest advocates of the cause.
