There was an unusually large attendance at Messrs Nolan, Tonka & Co.'s usual fortnightly stock at Hawera on Thursday. Bidding, was brisk and'£«cent. prices were fully sustained, the demand for sheep being decidedly better than, at previous sales. Most of the stock were quitted at the hammer. 2^ to Syrold heifers fetched £2 7s; 2£yr-Qld gteeri, £3 17s to £4 7s ; weaners; 265 ; 2^yr,old heifers, £1 17s. Shorn lambV'feechwt 3s 6d ; store ewes, 3s 10d to 4s 2d; fat ewes, 7g Id. The sale was generally regarded as one at the best held thig 'Summer. ■"■•■ = ' • ■' -•^ ; ,; ;r .. ; . ,;
