Strange Assault Case.

Invercargill, Friday; An ourage'ous assault was made today at Invercargill Railway Station, on an invalid gentleman recently from Melbourne, on a tour for th£ beuefit of his health. He was sitting m the station waiting for a train, when suddenly, and without the slightest apparent cause, >a •jnan named ;MoKinnoijj. mad' drunk, seized him by the throat, and threw hitti down and tore at him till blood came. It took four men to pull MeKinnon ; off and secure hini. Disgatifaction is expressed that no police , supervision .is given to the stU'tioii,^'-except on c Saturday,
