A WARNING TO PUBLISHERS.
LOOK OUT FOK THE SWINDLE.
i -Pear Sirs: Having received from I many of the Australian and New Zealand I publishers, (for my investigation and ap>roval) an advertising proposal sent them, by a New York concern under the name of "'Pembeuton, Ayer & : C0.," 'offerine a double-column advertisement of the " Nor-. man Electkic Light C0.," of Philadelphia, Pa., to be inserted "in all numbers of your paper for three months,"!, have investigated the character of these concerns, (both "Agency " and "advertisers) and find them both unmitigated frauds and swindles. The Press of the countries named, I fear, have been largely takeu in by these, impostors, and may have unwittingly led their, readers to make^rcmittances to the-Phila-delphia concern ; if so, they may ronder a valuable service t» the public by cautioning them against the impostors. I append a' telegraphic dispatch which appeared in the New York Tribune of January 6th, 1886. : Yours, in behalf of Honest Advertising, ■ H. P. HUBBARD. New Haven, Jan. 7, 1886.
