A meeting of ■ th'e committee of tH« Fox ton Racmg Club was held o|4 Friday evening last;, when the 4»fl»tidri of tha advisability of Holding a winter meeting was fully disctissed. After giving th^ matter full consideration, a resolution' to the effect that it was not desirable to hold a winter meeting was' passed. It wag resolved, however, that should any of th'e local sportsmen be disposed to organise a *^ meeting:, permission to use the course' would be granted on payment of a certain sum. A .majority of the committee' were personally m favdr of having thi " meeting, but as the feeling was not unanimous upon, the .subject, it Wai^ deemed more prudent to take the eourra notified.
