Dr Gilbert lectured last evening at the Theatre on Helm's and Fatses. The admission to the lecture was free, and the hall was consequently crowded to the street door. Dr Gilbert as a lecturer may lay claim to be one of the best who have visited our town, and by the attention he received from his audience last evening we can safely say, that he was appreciated as deservedly as the truly instructive and amusing address was en titled to; Printed heads of a number of well known historically celebrated criminal and notorious personages were shown during the .evening, and their facial peculiarities' described and explained by the speaker., Several \indi viduals present also had their character-, istics iuterpfttted wln'lai; walking up the hall at the request of the lecturer, and others had' true descriptions of their character given' whilst sitting on the platform, Dr Gilbert reading the indications m their faces and hands. Tonight the Dr will lecture on Love, Courtship, and Marriage, and we believe thie lecture ' has r always drawn- crowded audiences. The admission to-night will be 2/ and !/. 1 »■•!':■■.'' '.■ ' ;
