The Manawatu uo-opqrative Steam Shipping Company's screw steamer Jane Douglas, Captain Fraser, is announced to leave Fox ton for Wellington, today, at 10. p.m.
Nearly 400 cases of apples and pears were seized yesterday at Wellington, as being infected with the codlin moth. nearly £7000 was put through the totalizator at the Wellington races. The dividends were all small except m the Stewards' Handicap when they were £16 15s and £11 15s. An object sighted by the schooner Herald, off Cape Maria Van Diemen, and supposed to be an island, is belie, od jo be a large ibip on her beam ends.
