(DOTTED JPBSSS' ASSOCIATIOiTs) \ ><ai • ' r "New" Plymouth, Monday. : In the District Court to-day a decision was given b^ Jiidge 3awson on an interesting legal point m connection with the bankrupt estate of Humphries and son. The bankrupts held a wholesale license under the Licensing Act, 1881, 1 and^ Mr Samuel, for the Official Assignee, at the request Jof , l^e; creditors, movea ; the Court to compel the bankrupt to di^ ' liver it up to him. The bankrupts refused, alleging, that the license was a •• tool of their trade ;" also that it was not property passing to the assignees under bankruptcy. The Judge gave hi* decision that the license was valueless to the estate and the creditors and i declined to make the order for the surrender off ' the license by the bankrupts. Mr Samuel gave notice of appeal. f
