The Stratford Fire.

(UNITED PKKSS ASSOCIATION.") New Plymouth, Monday. The fires around Stratford have been mastered for the present, and without the wind springs up the danger is over near the towns. The Relief .Committee are. commencing to ascertain the losses of the fire around Stratford. Subscriptions are coming m fast to New Plymouth, over £600 having been subscribed:- The Kaiapol Wullen Company have- sent £10. .' Latest. Another outburst of fire occurred near Ngaire, and Southey and Willy's sawmill is m great danger and Nelson's dwellinghpuse. A special train left here this evening f»>r Ngaire with Volunteers to render assistance m putting out the fire and protecting the property. A strong southerly breeze is' blowing at Stratford, which is very serious, but it is hoped rain will soon come.
