Stevens and Gorton's Report.
During the present week we have held-,! two stock sales ; at Feilding on the sth, ' and at Paluae&ton on the 7th. had a very large attendance at Feilding, doubtless owing to a large portion of th© '<■ stock being unreserved, and consideringthe exceedingly dry reason and the fall m the price of stock m consequence, thft prices obtained at* that sale were satis-; , ■ factory. We yarded considerably over 300 head of cattle and 1500 she«p, W. sold nearly all the cattle and every pea ' ot sheeep, excepting one Bmall pen' of - fat sheep. We had fair entrie'g at the Palmerstoa sale, but were not able to greet stock m same' proportion. Buyers being: frighten- j ed of the continued dry . weather. "Wo" quote the following rates :— J !"S Feilding.— Fat cows, Mss to £4' 9s ; I 3-yr steers, £3 15a; 18-month to 2-yr mixed, £2 15s ; year to lfrmonth steers, £2 7s- 6d ; cows with calves, £2 12s 6d ; milkers, £2 to £5 15s ; fat mixed aheap, 6s 5d to 7s 4d ; ewes with lambs 3s '4aand 3s 5d ; store pigs, 4s 3d to Bs. •«•■■■ - ; Palmerston,— Beef , £6 2s 6d ; forward steers, £5 15s ; 3-yr steer*, £4 2s 6d ; store cows, £2 ; 18 month heifers. 28s ; fat wethers, 8s ; fat lambs, sg;6cL^*
