Six boys, aged from seventeen to five 7 went out fishing. ; When returning home under sail the ' boat was allowed to jibe and capsized all the bccupants into the water. With some difficulty all got hold of the boat, but ware several times rolled off. After a tiprie two of the boys, Clias. and Herbert ' Rutherford, aged 12. and 11 respectively, disappeared- and were seen no more, tlfoije is little hope of- recovering the bodies. The remaining f.opr boys were .'rescued when almost exhausted : by j* pasging boat. Chas. Matthers, aged thirteen, seems to have saved his brother, ageft five; in.a very commendable mariner' by keeping him out. of the water on his &ack until assistance Arrived, and m this he was assisted by James Rutherford, brother of the lads drowned.;: The lads; were m the water over an hour.
