WEDNESDAY'S MEETING. (Continuation of Keport.) From Manchester Bond Board, re subsidy under the Local Powers and i Finance Act, and query us to part of I money being made over to Oroua County Council, stating that such supposition was wrong and the Manawatu Boad Board would receive full amount, and spend same if deemed desirable m full on the Fitzherbert-Gorge Road through Mr C6tter's property. From R. B. McKenzie, Carnarvon, re river protective works, offering to undertake tbe management of same, and guarantee for two years substantial result or not charge for time. From E. Gladstone, stating that he is not m a position to fall bush alongside road line as requested by Board. From B. Johnston, stating that section referred to by Board was leased, and he would not agree t© have bush felled unless drains were promised to be kept clean. From H. F. Raven, applying for refund of £10, amount expended m falling road line, Fitzherbert, m May 1884; unless paid within one week after next > meeting legal proceedings would be taken. ; From Thos. Flynn and Jos. . Healy, ' , asking permission to cut grass on the Foxton Line within boundary. 1 From E. J. Armstrong, engineer to Board,' stating that G. Hanson, roadman, ! had ceased to work for the Board, and regretting same as man was always trustworthy and reliable. From, J..D. B. Hewitt, claiming £15 15s 4d for falling and burning bush. Re .application for payment of .rates, he informed the Board he held receipts up to 1886. . From R. Andrewatha, re his road arid desirability of having same attended to ' ait once, also stating that Messrs Pratt and Armstrong had visited the place and would doubtless recommend 'the Board to look to the matter. ; MATTERS DEALT WITH. The settlers on Millson's Line wrote 1 requesting 'to have 50 chains metalled. Messrs Russell and Stace waited on the Board m reference to tbe road leading to their properties at Te Matai. Resolved— To call tenders for work required on this road, not to exceed \ £45, to come out of the ensuing year's * rates. Messrs Prendergast and^Beale waited on the Board;* ViSi the construction, of a ,road from the mam road to their properties m Fitzherbert. They proposed that a special rate should be struck, and that the post of the work should be met by Messrs Batchelar, Prendergast, /and Beale paying and the Board £50 ; the first 'named to pay £2 per annum, and the latter two £4 per annum for 15 years. ; . • , Resolved— That the deputation be requested to put their proposition m writing, so ithat the Board would have something tangible to work upon by next -. meeting. The Engineer to examine and niake out an estimate of cost.
