For all classes of feeding grain an improved demand m noticeable, and this may be accounted for by the extremely dry and sultry character of the weather now being experienced. Complaints are rife respecting the prospects, of an exceedingly dry KAason, which have the effect of causing grain] and dairy produce generally to materially advance m prices. Farmers are holding stocks of salt butter for higher rates than those now ruling, viz., 9d. Cheese is m excel lent request at s id per Ib. Pollard and bran are almost unobtainable, the mills at Southern centres, have now large orders on hand frem Sydney, which causes a scarcity of local supplies, fowls 1 wheat is almost unobtainable, and is ruling at 3s 3d to 3s 4d per bushel. Oats are steady at last quotations, 2s to 2s 3d, stocks being' ample ; oatmeal, .£ll ; maize, 4s ; barley, 2s 9d ; chafl', 70s to 80s ; meadow hay, £4 10s ; potatoes (round and kidney samples), £4 10s; onions, 12s to 14s per cwt. Poultry has sold well, although prices have receded slightly. Geese realised 6s (id ; turkeys, 10s to 14s ; ducks, 3s 6(1 to 4s ; fowls, 3s 6d to 3s 9d per pair. Eggs are overstocked at 9d to lOd per dozen.
