On Thursday a respectable and well-to-do young settler presented • himself fat Hannaford's Matrimonial Agency m quest of a. wife. ; The damsel was to be -sought. -for, woced, and won before noon, on Saturday. Now here was a staggerer ! but T.B.H. was equal — to the occasion; -the same evening : the following advertisement appeared m ,the Star: .V.MATBIMUNIAL— A Young Settler, whoselincome averages £400 a year, seeks a respectable Girl, between 20 and 25, as wife, through Hannaford's Agency.— Apply at once." The , advertisement was promptly responded to, and out of the loVely bevy of aspirants -for his hand and heart the young settler selected his blushing partner, and at 11 a.UJ.on Saturday T.B.H* triumphantly presented them to the* Lord" at Postoffice Buildings', who speedily "of that twain made one flesh," and yesterday morning the happy couple sped away to their distant honie with a hearty "Bless ye, my children !" flung after them by the veteran match-maker. . ;
