Mr Carrick aued the executors of Knraitiana for £700 ror nervices as clerk to the estate when M<* Sheehan was trustee. For the defence, Mr Downje Stewart, of Dmiedin, and Mr Finn,* oIE Gisborne, uantended that MrCarrick was engaged by Mr Sheehau, and must look to Mr Sheehan's trustees for payment. This view was upheld by the Chief Jus* tice. >. In Chnmbers on Saturday it was agreed that tbe libel actions Grubb t. Eveuing News r. VVaipawa Mail, and Sawkiua v^ Waipawa Mail shall b* tried at Wellington, the Evening News Ito bear the extra expends to which I plaintiff and defendant* will be put. :
