Sydnky, Friday The sculling match between Neil Mat terson anil \V. Boach, the. champion, for £200 a-side an., the championship of the world, took pli.ee to-day on the Parrauutta River. The weathpr was beauti ful, and there was a moderate attendance. Beach won easily. Beach led from the start and was never caught. It was evident from the outset that Mattirson was overmatched. His Excellency Lord Carrington followed the race,*and congratulated Beach upon his victory. The betting was 3 to lon Beach T.ne official time for the race is 24min lOaec
