Stevens and Gorton's Report.
We held a large sale at Palmerston on December 8, and } r arded as fine lot of bullocks ac we have ever penned m Palmerston, and a few pens of sheep ; the bidding, however, was not so brisk as we anticipated, for the quality of cattle offered, though we managed to quit nearly all and all the sheep excepting one pen. At our Bulls sale on December 15, the entries were not so large as usual, though we offered a very useful lot of well-bred cattle, and with the exception of 7 head quitted all ; we penned 5 lots of"sheep and sold 4 pens. We quote the following :— Palmerstori. — Forward bullocks, £5 15s ; 3 and 4-yr bullocks, £5 2s 6d to £5 ss ; 2£-vr steers, £4 ; 2£ to 3-yr steers, i-4 4s ; 2-yr Rteers, £3 ss ; cows and heifers, £3 5s to £3 12s ; yearling heifers, 86s ; fat shorn sheep, 8s ; 4 tooth wethers. 7s 3d ; mixed 2-tooth, 5s Bd. Bulls.— 3-yr steers, £4 to £4 6s ; 18---month and 2-yr steers, j62 17s 6d ; year | ling steers, £2 28 6d ; yearling mixed, 32s 6d to 35s ; cows and calves. £3 ; 18---month mixed, £1 17s 6d; fat ewes 6s to 7g 3d ; mixed sheep m wool, 9s.
