Rowing Club.
[ A general meeting of the above club was held last evening at the Commercial Hotel, Mr Eerguson m the chair. The following: gentlemen were elected a committee for the ensuing year: — Messrs West, Hicks, Robinson, Turner, Ferguson, Rawlings, and Park (chairman). Mr Hicks was elected Treasurer, and Mr Pirani Secretary. Messrs Turner, Bawlings, and Park were elected a sub- committee to draw up rules to be submitted to the club. The matter of securing the boats after use was considered, and ultimately it was deemed advisable to have some means adopted, whereby the boats could be hauled up and secured by one person without assistance. Messrs Ferguson and Rawlings were deputed to arrange the matter. Mr Waters, residing near the boatshed at Awapuni, was elected caretaker. The season it was decided should commence on the first of November m each year. Messrs Hicks and Robinson were appointed to receive subscriptions. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the late secretary, Mr A. J. Clarke for the energy he had displayed, whilst hold* ing the position. No further business was transacted and the meeting adjourned.
