Choral Society.
As will be seen by advertisement a general meeting of the above society -will be held m the Bank Chambers on Monday evening next, commencing at 8 p.m. Report* of committees appointed at the preliminary meeting, held last Tuesday week will be submitted at this, meeting, including proposed rules and regulations ■of the new society. Permanent ofticera -will also be elected, and intending members' names received. We have every reason to believe that a most successful issue will be the result of the efforts put forth by the promoters, and have no 'doubt the musical renidents of the town will appreciate the same, and encourare the development of a taste for the correct rendition of choral music. A committee meeting of the ladies and gentlemen appointed at the first meeting was held last evening, when a sub-committee's report o± suggested rules and recommendations was submitted and received. The names of a considerable number of intending members were also handed m by the ladies, and general matters of interest to the Societv discussed.
