Blknhkim, Tuesday; The Wairau Road Board has declined ro pay its quota toward hospital and charitable aid, on the ground that the principle of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Act is wrong, and that such an. institution ought to be supported out of the Consolidated. Fund The Hospital has been hitherto supported by Government. Charitable aid for the whole district for many years paat has been defrayed by the Blenheim Borough, the Boad "Board not paying anything. The Wairau Board is taking steps to induce the other Boards to follow its example and refuse to pay. Woodville, Tuesday. Steps are being taken to form a Fire Brigade here.
