Friendly Societies.
At the committee meeting of the above held on Saturday last there were present — Messrs Richardson, Hosking, West, Woodroofe, Wood, Relf, Nicholson, Dungan, Lynch, Brady, Jensen, Grace, Miller, Weight, and F. Mowlein (secretary). The tender of the Palmerston Town Band was accepted, £10 15s. The Ground Committee as follows ' were appointed : — Messrs Miller, Lynch, Befct, and Nicholson. Resolved — That E. Henderson be appointed Steward m place of G. Woodroofe. Resolved — That Bros. Woodroofe and Relf be gatekeepers, and Bro. Brady outside gatekeeper. Resolved— To offer the privleges by auction on Saturday next. A considerable number of nominations for the various handicaps were received, a list of which will be published to-mor-row. No further business of importance being transacted the meeting adjourned.
