His sire, the pure imported Clydesdale horse. Fowler's Wallace, bred by Mr Donald McKinley, Wotildham Hall, near Gloucester, out of a pure Clydesdale marc, bred by Mr J. N. Fleming, Canipbelton, Scotland : her sire, the celebrated horse Lofty Wallace, gained several first prizes before leaving the Old Country. Magfjie wa.s bred by Mr Sutherland. Diomedes is a rich bay with black points, standing 16f hands high, with immense boue and muscle, good action, is 7 years old, and is considered to be one of tho best cross-country horses m New Zealand.
