Hunt Club Steeplechase, Waverley Handicap Hurdle Race, and Manawatu Handicap Hurdles at Pahnerston. Diomedes himself is the winner of the Wangaiiub Welter Weight-for-age Hurdle Race, beating Reform; New Year, Dhudeen, Parnell, and Christmas ; won the Turakina Handicap Hiirdhs, beating a large field ; and ran a good third for the Wanganui Grand Rational Steeplechase, carrying 12st 71bs., giving the winner, Runhine, Ist slbs., >nd the second horse, Dlmdeen, 2st 51ba., thereby showing that he is a weight carrier, and has exceptionally good staying power. Diomedes was awarded first prize at the Wanganui A. and P. Association's Show as a sire best calculated to improve the breed of saddle horses. Diomedes is a rich bay with black points, standing lOf hands high, with immense bone and muscle, good action, is 7 years old, and is considered to be one of the best cross- country horses m New Zealand. Diomedes will travel as under : Mondays — Ashurst, via Ashurst road. Tuesdays — Ashurst to Palmerston. Wedntedays-T-Palmcrston to Sandou. Thursdays — Bulls and Lower Rangitikei. Fridays— llalcombe. .
