(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Wednesday. The Customs returns for the colony for the last month are almost complete. The total so far is £100,497. For October the amount was £ 110,456, while for November, 1884, it was £95,427. For the eight months of the financial year the total customs revenue for the colony is £952,344, which is a deficiency of £989 as compared with the Colonial Treasurer's estimate for the year. Thursday. The Government have decided not to appoint a New Zealand Secretary to the Indian and Colonial exhibition. Mr Whitney who has the contract for the supply of cartridges to Government will make thn first delivery under his contract m a few days. The Hon. Mr Ballance will address his constituents at Wanganni early m January after which he visits South on departmental business. Hawera, Wednesday. The Egmont Show to-day passed off very successfully, the weather being fine, and the attendance good.
