Stevens and Gorton's Report.
Sinca our last we have held two successful sales — at Feilding on the 24th ; at Bulls on the 26th — when we held the annual sale of stock on behalf of Messrs Fraser and Dalrymple. At Feildinc, though we did not yard so many as ad vertised, owing- to some not coming forward, the yards were well filled, and the cattle sold remarkably well. Sheep were dull ; we quitted a few pens. We had a large attendance at the annual sale on the 26th, when we had the pleasure ot offering about 500 head ot cattle and about one thousand sheep, and the reserves as usual being low, we quitted everything excepting a^couple of pens, for which value was not offered. The prices obtained were satisfactory, those of cattle being up to former sales, hut for sheep decidedly lower. A grand lot of horses were offered, 13 of which were quitted at prices greatly m favour of the purchaser, but the vendors are determined to make their annual sale one where the public can obtain firstclass stock <it moderate rates. The following are our quotations : — Feilding.— Beef , £6 2s 6d to .£6 5s ; forward bullocks, £5 5s ; 18-months to 2-year steers, £3 4s 6d ; cows and heifers, £2 10s 6d ; yearlings and 18-montha .mixed, £2 7a ; fat sheep m wool, lla fid ; fat mixed sheep, 7s ; culls, 3s.
